It's a Campbells sort of morning already, which I presume will be the preface to a mighty fine day.
For the sake of updates, the correspondence course is done! Woo hoo! & severe props to God for taking me through that.
Today marks the third-to-last day of work here at KARM, which means only 12 days to graduation. That is nuts! Nevertheless, I'm looking forward to this summer, as well as the subsequent seasons.
After graduation, the first plan is to head back home for a bit, God willing. I'll surely stay there through mothers day. We're having the party at our house this year and it will be the first opportunity for me to enjoy the company of the Schlaegel family in the new house! School has been nice, but I'm really looking forward to being able to spend time with family again, it's a great feeling, and one that I have found I apprecaite more and more.
Departure may come as soon as May 14th or as late as the 18th, God will let me know when the time is right. Ohio will wave its goodbyes as the West smiles a sunny hello to Carlie (my 95 Nissan Altima) and me.
1457 miles separate the roads between Columbus and Albuquerque. This will be my first significant road trip! Long drives have proven themselves very nice, as there is not much room for multi-tasking, and in turn, plenty of time for my thoughts and prayers to frolic together unrestricted by time restraints or limited by tasks and assignments. I think the next few months will be good for that, in fact. And for reading whatever I desire!
There is a page in my journal with a now jumbled accumulation of texts I have been hopeful to read over the past couple of years, as well as a separate page in my planner, and some other scrap-paper lists elsewhere. As this is the (slightly dissheveled, unorganized) case, I decided to make a list here of the books that I'd really like to read in the next six or seven months (or so :])
They include, but are certainly not limited (at least by my desires, maybe by time) to:
In Defense of Food
The Kite Runner
Through Painted Deserts
Simple Church
Buck-Naked Faith
The Great Omission (Dallas Willard)
The Divine Conspiracy (Dallas Willard)
Walden
The Great Physician's Prescription for Better Health
That's all I can think of for now! It's a good thing I like lists, as I might otherwise forget a lot!
There's a lot more to look forward to (in addition to reading!) right now as well, but it's more than I can focus to record at the moment.
As Mr. Don Miller says, "Be blessed, not stressed!"
Peace (and carrots, broccoli, red peppers...),
Ashley : )
